In Search of the Big Five

No waves again led to yet another contingency plan. Today we went to the Addo Elephant Reserve and Game Park. Our goal, find as many foreign animals as possible.

Elephants – check

Zebras – check

Elephants in Addo

We missed the lions, rhinos and hippos but we’re heading to another park in a few weeks to try again. It really got me thinking about the differences between countries. Apparently, to people that aren’t from Canada, bears and wolves are terrifying and exciting. If you lived in Africa and saw a lion in your backyard, do you think you would have the same reaction as if it were a bear in North Van? I don’t know.
